Neda Razavipour
Neda Razavipour (born 1969 in Tehran), studied art in Paris, at the University of Paris I, the Pantheon/Sorbonne, and the École National Superieur des Arts Décoratifs, EnsAD. She began her work as a stage designer in the theatre and cinema, then continued as a visual artist and performer. Razavipour co-founded several collectives and NGOs in Tehran and worked as an independent curator. For more than two decades, she has participated in international contemporary art exhibitions using various artistic media.
She is based in Luzern since 2020. In her artistic practice, Neda Razavipour uses everyday objects and routines to explore the question of balance, a constantly shifting state between order and chaos. For this reason, her works are usually site-specific and evolve over time in a carefully considered choreography. Razavipour’s scenarios can be compared to a scientific approach or a therapeutic process, that generates results by gathering new experiences from the public’s reactions.
